Meet Phyllis Jenkins
Hi, I’m Phyllis Jenkins, founder of Powerful Journey. I help women turn life challenges into lifechanging messages through faith-based storytelling, writing, and publishing.
For years, I’ve walked alongside women who feel called to write their story but aren’t sure where to begin or how to move forward. Some are carrying pain. Some are holding unfinished manuscripts. Some simply know there’s more God is asking them to share. My role is to help bring clarity, courage, and structure to that calling.
At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief that our stories matter to God and are meant to be stewarded, not hidden. Writing is not about self-promotion. It’s about obedience, healing, and legacy.
Through Powerful Journey, I guide women from idea to manuscript, from manuscript to published book, and from story to stage with faith, accountability, and practical support. Through programs such as Writers’ Journey, Author’s Academy, and Speakers Academy, women receive clear instruction, encouragement, and community. Whether someone is writing their first book or preparing to publish again, my goal is to help her write with confidence, purpose, and peace.
Giving back is also an important part of my mission. Each year, through Powerful Journey, we award two annual scholarships. One supports a single mother raising a child with special needs, helping to ease the financial burdens she carries. The second scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior, encouraging the next generation to dream boldly and pursue their future with confidence.

Whether I’m coaching writers, hosting conferences, publishing books, or awarding scholarships, my heart remains the same: to help women honor their journey, use their voice, and leave a legacy of words that will impact lives for generations to come.
The Powerful Journey Organization operates under the umbrella of Women's Non-Profit Alliance, a 501(c)3 non-profit tax exempt organization and proud member of the ECFA (Evangelical Counsel for Financial Accountability).
